Weekly Anime Draft: Themes, Retries and Personal Bests
Every Monday at 00:00 UTC, AnimeDrafts opens a new 17-battle weekly challenge. The theme changes which characters you can draft, while everyone receives the same offered pools and rival squads. Play the weekly event →
Three themes, one shared challenge
- Classic Crossover: anime that premiered before 2000.
- 2000s All-Stars: anime that premiered from 2000 through 2009.
- Modern Era: anime that premiered in 2010 or later.
The cycle begins with Classic Crossover on October 26, 2026. Restrictions use each anime series’ premiere year, not the year of a character’s transformation. Each identity stays in its original assigned role; a form assigned to another role sits this event out. The event screen shows the eligible version count.
What stays fixed?
Six roles, five options per pick, two redraws for the entire attempt, and 17 battles. Retries use the same pools, rival teams and battle variation. Rivals follow the same era and role restrictions and may contain a character you picked. Rounds 1–9 sample one candidate per role; rounds 10–17 choose the stronger of two. There are no hidden stat bonuses. The weekly-v1 ruleset pins the launch roster, ratings, role weights and chemistry values separately from later regular-game balance changes. A new weekly date changes the seed, even when a theme returns.
How your personal best works
- Open Weekly event and start an attempt. Picks are saved after each successful confirmation.
- Finish all six picks to receive your simulated 17-battle record.
- Choose Try another weekly attempt to test different choices. You can retry after finishing as often as you like; an unfinished run resumes instead of silently resetting.
- Your highest completed win count is your weekly best. A tied score keeps the first best squad.
These are personal results, not a global leaderboard. The server calculates saved weekly scores; copied score links remain player-shared snapshots and are not proof of a verified ranking.
When the week closes
The event closes the following Monday at 00:00 UTC. The countdown also shows your local closing time. Unfinished attempts expire, and completed personal bests appear in Your past weekly results. The archive shows up to 12 earlier weeks with a completed result. Starting a later event trims older records beyond that window.
Browser saves and other modes
A separate anonymous, HttpOnly browser cookie identifies your weekly records. Reloading resumes your attempt, but clearing that cookie or changing browsers loses access. There is no account sync. Weekly play does not change your daily streaks or unlimited best. My teams can also hold a device-local copy of a finished weekly squad.
You can share your six for a friend matchup; that matchup uses the ordinary current ratings and is separate from this week’s challenge. Weekly results cannot extend to 82 battles. For a marathon, switch to unlimited play or a friend battle.
