Anime draft strategy: a worked six-pick example
These examples use power edition 3 and the actual game formula. They explain decisions rather than promise an unbeatable team.

An annotated draft
Seed 451, no redraws: at each role, this example takes the offered character with the highest weighted role contribution. It finishes 14–3. Chemistry is evaluated separately, so this is an understandable baseline rather than a claim of optimal play.
| Slot | Pick | Role contribution | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Captain | All Might | 85.50 | battle sense; cover protection |
| Vanguard | Trunks | 84.60 | mobility; cover protection |
| Tactician | Aladdin | 89.65 | battle sense; cover mobility |
| Guardian | Albedo | 92.50 | protection; cover mobility |
| Wildcard | Keroberos | 82.90 | battle sense; cover protection |
| Finisher | Yami Sukehiro | 85.25 | battle sense; cover protection |
Why overall is not the deciding number
In Captain, Naruto Uzumaki has overall 76.80 and weighted contribution 76.60. Go Gunhee has lower overall 72.25 but higher contribution 78.75.
Overall weights Power 40%, Speed 25%, Strategy 20%, Support 15%. Captain instead weights them 20%, 15%, 40%, 25%. Compare the slot, then the character.
When to redraw
You have two redraws for the whole draft. If the offered characters fit your current slot, retaining a redraw protects a later weak pool. Redrawing is useful when the current five have poor relevant attributes or duplicate-form restrictions in a friend challenge. A redraw never guarantees an upgrade.
What chemistry actually adds
Team strength starts with the average of six weighted role contributions. Each repeated anime world adds 0.7; each distinct authored role represented adds 0.55. For example, two Naruto characters and four characters from four other worlds yield one repeated-world bond, worth 0.7. Current role-specific pools normally cover all six authored roles, adding 3.3. Legacy drafts can differ.
Forms and scope
One identity can occupy only one slot. Base form and named transformations have separate profiles. Standard Gold Experience does not include Requiem, and human Garou does not include Cosmic Fear.
Learning from a loss
Expand a battle to inspect the opponent’s roles and the final arcade scores. The result advice compares weighted contributions and points to a slot worth testing. It does not claim a single attribute caused a particular defeat. Edition three opponents fill the same six roles as your team and scout two candidates per role in rounds 1–17, then three in rounds 18–82. They receive no hidden stat bonus. Start a 17- or 82-battle unlimited season, or extend a completed regular 17-battle team to 82 while preserving its first 17 results. Daily attempts stay at 17. Current battles add seeded variation of up to six points to either side.
